JUNE
MONTHLY HEALTH AWARENESS TOPIC
Men’s Health Awareness Month
The purpose of Men’s Health Month is to heighten the awareness of
preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of
disease among men and boys. This month gives health care providers, public
policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and
boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
Listed below are just a few health tips that men and boys can think about this
month:
·
Exercise
Regularly
·
Drinking
plenty of fluids 8-10 glasses of water/day.
·
Get
proper rest at least 7 hours of sleep.
·
See a
doctor for an annual check-up.
·
In
general, it is recommended that men with an average risk of prostate cancer start
being screened with a digital rectal exam and PSA blood levels at age 50. There
is some evidence that African-American men should start being screened a decade
earlier, at age 40.
·
Enjoy
Life!
1 Corinthians 10:31 - Whether therefore
ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
